About Kurt Whitesel
Kurt has extensive experience in various accounting, finance, and operational roles in both Fortune 500 companies and family-owned businesses. He is known as an accomplished leader with experience in business strategy development and execution, operational and financial management, project management, change management, and business analytics.
Kurt began the first seven years of his career with “Big 4” public accounting firms supporting public and private entities. He provided audit and consulting services for clients in varied industries including retail, manufacturing, communications, governmental, and real estate.
He has served in leadership roles to businesses at various stages of their life-cycle including start-up, growth, and reinvention ranging in sales from $1 million to over $1 billion in the following areas:

Kurt earned his Bachelors of Arts in Accounting from Walsh University in North Canton, Ohio. He is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive) licensed in the State of Ohio, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and the Society of Financial Service Professionals (FSP).
Kurt and his wife of almost 30 years, Jane, live in Sioux Falls, SD. Their two sons are actively engaged in their careers with McGladrey in Sioux Falls and PricewaterhouseCoopers in Chicago.
Kurt currently enjoys volunteering his time with the United Way of the Sioux Empire and as a SCORE mentor. He is also active in in various local associations including the Association of General Contractors, the Home Builders Association of the Sioux Empire, and as a board member of his community homeowners association.
